Wayne W. Pierce, Jr.

Wayne W. Pierce, Jr. age 66 of Conowingo, MD, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012 surrounded by his loving family.

Wayne was born in West Grove, PA on April 23, 1946 to the late Wayne W. & Hazel Pierce, Sr. He worked for over 44 years at Lenape Forge. Wayne enjoyed fishing, boating, tinkering with projects around the house, reading, and playing cryptograms. He was a jokester and enjoyed nothing more than making people laugh and smile. Most of all, he loved traveling with his wife, Cathy and spending time with his wonderful family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cathy; son, Wayne W. Pierce III and his wife, Tracy of Rising Sun, MD; daughter, Denise Kerns and her husband, Bennett of Rising Sun, MD; step-daughter, Billie Jo Meara and her husband, Joe of Knoxville, TN; brothers, John Pierce and his wife, Betty of Rising Sun, MD and Roger Pierce and his wife, Patti of Oxford, PA; sister, Mary Jane Blevins and her husband, Roger of Nottingham, PA. Wayne is also survived by his mother-in-law, Audrey Cooper; father-in-law, Ken Cooper; 8 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and the dog he loved to hate, Lola. Including his parents Wayne was also preceded in death by his sister, Hazel Tonna.

A service honoring of Wayne's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 21, 2012 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 111 S. Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911. Visitations will be held Thursday, December 20, 2012 from 6 p.m. to 8p.m. and Friday, December 21, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Colora, MD. To send condolences please visit
