Obituary

Sandra Cook Bradford, age 63, of Elkton, MD passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at her residence. Born June 4, 1955 in Wilmington, DE, Sandi was the daughter of the late John Richard Cook and the late Anne Elizabeth (Hasson) Hickman.

Sandi was a 1973 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School in Wilmington, DE. She went on to receive a brief education from the Lankenau Hospital Nursing School and later attended the University of Delaware. She held many jobs throughout her life; working as an administrative assistant for R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home and later for the Dean of the Engineering Department at the University of Delaware. She also worked as a paraprofessional for the Christina School District where she was an aide for students with disabilities. Following this job she returned to the University of Delaware where she worked until her retirement from the Center for Disability Studies in December 2017.

Sandi loved spending time at the beach and by the pool. She was a very good and loyal friend who will be missed dearly.

Sandi is survived by her two daughters: Katherine Elizabeth Bradford of Salisbury, MD and Jillian Leigh Bradford of Philadelphia, PA; sister, Martha Cook Dennison of Atlanta, GA; brother, John R. Cook, Jr. and his wife, Phyllis of Syracuse, NY; former husband, Kerrey Bradford of Millsboro, DE, step-mother, Constance Cook of Mechanicsburg, PA; step-sister, Cynthia Quilty and her husband, Chris of Mechanicsburg, PA and her step-brother Geoffrey Barba and his wife, Linda of Atlanta, GA.

A memorial visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday, September 28, 2018 at R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 W. Main Street, Newark, DE 19711. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to, "Special Olympics Delaware" and sent in care of the funeral home.
