Oscar Lee Gude, 58, of Elkton, MD passed away on March 26, 2017. Born on March 1, 1959 in Elkton, MD, he was the son of Lucille (Wood) Gude and the late Leroy Gude.
Oscar was a 1977 graduate of Elkton High School, where he excelled at track and basketball, winning many awards. He was a dedicated truck driver for over 20 years, driving for H.R. Ewell, Inc. of East Earl, PA. He worked long hours to provide for his family and talked with them by phone when he was on the road. Oscar was a martial arts enthusiast and studied Kung Fu, as well as many other styles. He also enjoyed cooking, becoming a chef for a brief period of time and working for Schafer's Canal House during the 1970's. He delighted in cooking soul food for his family and friends. Oscar loved music and would play frequently in different venues; in particular, he was talented at playing the drums.
In addition to his mother, Oscar is survived by his sons: Albert Henry of Wilmington, DE, Devon Ellwood of Elkton, MD, and James Crossan of Elkton, MD; daughters: Danielle Ali of Newark, DE, Deianna Tyree of Wilmington, DE, and Courtney Ellwood of Elkton, MD; grandchildren: Makai Lambert, Daanesh Ali, Albert Henry, Jr., Benjimine Henry, Aniah Ellwood, and Zahra Ali; brothers: Oscar Gude, Sr., Leroy Gude, Tyrone Gude, Sherman Gude, Sherdonald Gude, Sheraton Gude, Sherwood Gude, and Shermadison Gude; and sisters: Ginger Gude, Roxanne Jackson, Caramel Waters, Lucinda Morwani, Crystal Moore, Norma Gude, and Nancy Riley.
A celebration of Oscar's life will be held at 11am on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Abundant Life Worship Center, 250 Booth Street, Elkton, MD 21921, where friends and family may visit beginning at 9am. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery.
