Martha Dale Graham passed on to her heavenly rest on January 22, 2017 at Ware Presbyterian Village in Oxford, PA. Mrs. Graham was the daughter of the late Marvin C. and Nora B. Dale. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Alexander P. Graham Sr.
She was born in Livingston, TN on November 8, 1925. She graduated from Livingston Academy and went on to business school. Following completion of her training in 1944, she and her best friend moved to Oak Ridge, TN and worked as a secretary on the Oak Ridge Project. At the completion of the project she was offered a position in Washington, D.C. In 1949 they left their small town roots and began work for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. She was very proud of her work at the FBI and honored to have worked for Mr. J. Edgar Hoover. She left the Bureau in 1964 and her focus turned to caring for her family.
Known for her homemaking and entertaining skills Mrs. Graham was also very active in her children's schools, church and community organizations. She was a member of Fourth Presbyterian Church in Bethesda, MD. She enjoyed spending time at the family's beach home in Fenwick Island, DE, traveling, reading and spending time with friends and family. Mrs. Graham retired to Ocean Pines, MD. Upon her development of Alzheimer's disease she moved to Cecil County, MD to be closer to her family.
Mrs. Graham is survived by: her daughter, Dale and son-in-law Tim Kerns and their children Katy and Alex of Rising Sun, MD, her son, A. Page Graham Jr. and his daughter, Bailey of Southern MD and her brother, Alvin C. Dale of Springfield, TN. Additionally, she leaves behind many nieces, nephews and beloved friends.
Services for Mrs. Graham will be held at 7PM on Friday, January 27, 2017 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911, with a visitation beginning at 6PM.
For those not able to travel to Rising Sun, a graveside service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, MD.
