Obituary

Mark Alan Myers, of Elkton, MD, passed away on April 16, 2021 at age 63. He was born in Baltimore, MD on December 30, 1957 to the late Albert Raymond Myers, Jr. and Shirley Ann (Hanna) Dahlstrom.

Mark was a family man and was extremely proud of his two daughters, Kimberly and Danielle. He would often say that raising his girls was his greatest accomplishment. Mark also had many friends that were like family to him. He was full of life and was always cracking jokes and laughing with those lucky enough to share time with him. Mark was most often found on the golf course every chance he could get with his group, "The Gaggle," and other beloved golf friends. He was also a talented billiards player and loved shooting pool with his friends from Pine Grove. He enjoyed a good cigar and glass of red wine, and especially loved Maryland crabs. Mark loved dogs and cherished his many family pets throughout the years. When out on the open road, he loved driving his cars with the top down, especially his red Corvette.

Mark served his country in the U.S. Army for four years and worked in telecommunications for the past 40 years as a Project and Program Manager and Vice President of Communications. His colleagues, as well as his family and friends, would attest to Mark's natural leadership abilities and his talent for communicating with others to complete any task at hand.

Mark is survived by his wife, Karen Myers; daughters, Kimberly Myers and Danielle Meyers; son-in-law, Michael Meyers; brother, Scott Myers; former spouse, mother of their children, and friend, Brenda (Myers) Lamica; and cousins Merilee and Philip (P.K.) Hanna. In addition to his parents, Mark is preceded in death by his uncle, Phil Hanna, and aunt, Eileen Hanna.

A memorial service will be held at Back Creek Golf Club in Middletown, DE on Saturday, May 8th, at 2 pm. Family members and close friends and colleagues are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to First Tee and sent in care of the R.T. Foard funeral home at 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921. First Tee is an international youth development organization that introduces kids and teens to the game of golf and the life skills and values it fosters.
