Maria Christina Diaz Mana-ay, age 33, of Elkton, MD and City of San Fernando, Philippines, came Home to The Lord on Thursday, September 13, 2012.
Born on December 25, 1978 in the Philippines, Christina came to the United States in 1999, to get medical treatment. Since that time, she never left Elkton. Despite a lingering illness, she dedicated time to volunteer as teacher assistant at Immaculate Concepcion Religious Education and a helping hand at the Cecil County Pregnancy Center. Christina loved children and it was no surprise that she became a preschool teacher. Christina is best remembered by all who know her as bubbly, full of enthusiasm, optimistic, and patient.
She is survived by her parents, Brig Gen Eduardo C. Mana-ay (Ret) and Jennifer Diaz Curcio; her siblings, Eduardo D. Mana-ay, Jr., Sachi Diaz Mana-ay; stepfather, Ralph Curcio; and daughter, Isabella Bingnear.
A Celebration of her Life will be held from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 259 E. Main St., Elkton, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 452 E. Bow St., Elkton, MD. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Elkton, MD.
