Obituary for Mrs. Linda J. Petschke

March 28, 1948 - August 21, 2017
Elkton, Maryland | Age 69

Loving Mother, Wife, Sister, and Grandmother

Linda Jean Petschke, at the age of 69, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, August 21, 2017 at Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Linda was born on March 28, 1948 in Auburn, NY, to the late Earl and Jean Guthrie.

Growing up Linda loved the art of dance and not only found pleasure performing in front of live audiences but also spent her free time teaching others the different styles of dance. Linda also volunteered often as a candy striper at the local town hospital in Auburn, NY, something that brought her great joy and satisfaction from knowing that she was helping others during difficult times.

For relaxation, Linda enjoyed listening to music, especially hits from the 50's and 60's, and loved the splendor and peacefulness of the ocean while sitting on Florida beaches. But she was most fond of being a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend and relished every moment of togetherness. Her infectious smile and love will dearly be missed but will always be remembered.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Greg Petschke; her children Jeanine Upchurch, Lisha Ferris and Chad Hunt along with their spouses, children and grandchildren. Also surviving are her two sisters Susan Romano, Gina Olmstead and their families.

Services are scheduled on September 1, 2017 at The Barn Vineyard Church, 3224 Appleton Road, Landenberg, PA 19350 at 12:00PM with a visitation that will begin at 11:00AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Linda's charity of choice, the "St. Jude Children's Research Hospital". Contributions can be made by check and sent c/o R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921 or by visiting their website,
