Leonard R. Widdekind, age 86, of Landenberg, PA, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2012. He was born on June 17, 1925 in Wilmington, DE to the late Hans and Mary (Brennan) Widdekind.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Teresa Widdekind of Landenberg, PA; son Leonard Widdekind and his wife, Rachele of Syracuse, NY; daughter, Lisa Widdekind of Berthoud, CO; grandchildren, Emily, Julia, Sophia, Claire, and Will; brother, Millard Widdekind of Wilmington, DE; sisters, Amy Smith of Wilmington, DE and Gloria Wilson of Bear, DE; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Widdekind worked as a design engineer for All American Engineering for over twenty years and retired as a facility engineer from Chrysler Corporation's Newark Assembly Plant.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 20, 2012 at R.T. Foard and Jones, Inc., 122 West Main Street, Newark, DE 19711, where friends and family may call one hour prior. Burial will be private. The family requests that you make a contribution to your favorite charity in lieu of flowers.
