Obituary

John Trush, age 90, a lifelong resident of Chesapeake City, passed away February 11, 2015 at William Hill Manor in Easton, MD.
Born on November 1, 1924, John was the son of the late Phillip and Mary Malinowski Trush. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II under General George Patton. John worked for the Army Corps of Engineers for many years, where he worked extensively on various C&D Canal and Bridge projects and became a curator of the Pump Museum. He was also employed as a plumber and an electrician. In his youth, John was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing and in later years enjoyed working on his farm. He was a member of Chesapeake City VFW. Known for his kindness and generosity, John will be missed by many.
Surviving are his sisters, Catherine (Kitty) DiGirolamo of Florida Stephanie (Stell) Sclavos of Rising Sun, MD, numerous nieces and nephews and former companion Helen Caleb. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Georgia Cunningham Trush and second wife Olga Blendy Trush; brothers Harry and William Trush; and sisters Anna Trush, Pauline (Peggy) Baran and Mary Barahura Narcisso.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Basil Ukrainian Catholic Church, Basil Ave., Chesapeake City on Thursday February 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 318 George St., Chesapeake City, MD 21915 on Wednesday February 18 from 6 – 8:00 p.m. Interment will follow in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Basil Ukrainian Catholic Church or the Chesapeake City VFW and mailed to the funeral home.
