John B. Zistl, Jr., 67, of Elkton, MD, passed away at his daughter's home on December 8, 2012.
Born in Wilmington, DE on December 12, 1944, John was the son of the late John B. and Annie Denham Zistl. He was a graduate of the Salesianum School in Wilmington and was an HVAC technician for Boulden Oil Co. He enjoyed his family and family activities, especially camping, fishing and cooking as well as Motocross with his children.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Jane Zistl of New Castle, DE; three sons, John B. Zistl, III of Hartley, DE, Eric A. Zistl of Pedricktown, NJ, and Andrew Henry Zistl of New Castle, DE; two daughters, Donna M. Mitchell, with whom he lived, and Samantha A. Zistl of New Castle, DE; a brother, William Dennis Zistl of Newark, DE; two stepchildren, Jaime and James White, both of Bear, DE; six grandchildren, Earl Wayne Mitchell, Jr., Jennifer Anne Jackson, Zachary Zistl, Sebastian Thomas, A.J. Thomas and Leif Daly; and two great grandchildren, Lucas Cole Jackson and Leo Scott Jackson.
A service honoring his life will be held at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 East Main St., Elkton, MD 21921 on Friday December 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Thursday evening from 7 – 9:00 p.m. or one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Gilpin Manor Memorial Park following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Seasons Hospice c/o the funeral home.
