Obituary

James "Jim" Tennent Kinnon III of Elkton, MD, age 67, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2018. He was born on January 14, 1951 in Abington, PA to the late James Tennent Kinnon, Jr. and Dolores Mildred (Rinck) Kinnon.

Jim worked as a Boilermaker for 12 years with the Delaware City Refinery and was a member of the Boilermakers Local 13 Union of Levittown, PA for 20 years before retiring in 2002. In his retirement, Jim stayed active by volunteering at the Upper Bay Museum, located in the Community Park in North East, MD for 4 years.

Jim enjoyed woodworking and would use his skills to make beautiful furniture. He liked to fish in any body of water, was an avid reader of history and had a witty sense of humor, often expressing this with one-liners. Jim loved to watch his favorite team play, the Philadelphia Eagles, and was delighted when they finally won the Super Bowl. Jim's greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Mary Beth Kinnon of Elkton, MD; his daughter, Bridget M. Smith (Clinton) of Malvern, PA; and his brother, Frederick R. Kinnon (Norma Rieker) of Quakertown, PA. In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his sister, Wendy Blankenberg.

A family organized memorial celebration will be held in Jim's honor from noon to 4:00pm on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Minihane's Irish Pub, 101 West Main St., Elkton, MD 21921.
