Glenn Hampton Arrants, Jr., 84, of North East, MD, passed away January 20, 2012 at Christiana Hospital.

Born on May 7, 1927, and raised in Elkton, Glenn was the son of the late Glenn H. Arrants, Sr. and Blanche Stanley Arrants. He graduated from Goldey Beacom College and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Glenn worked for over 30 years at Aberdeen Proving Ground where he was a contract administrator. He was a life long and very active member of Wesley Chapel of Wesley United Methodist Church, serving on the Board of Trustees, Stewardship Chair, chapel choir, and was the lay member to the Methodist Conference. For many years, he served as a Sunday School Teacher at the North East United Methodist Church. He also was a member of the APG Retirees and the Elkton High School Alumni Association. His many interests included gardening, cooking, farming, and travel. Glenn was an avid reader and spent many years of his life restoring and living on his gentlemen's farm in Harford County, MD.

He is survived by his sister Anna Louise Lockard and her husband Auburn of North East, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his brothers Harold S. Stanley, and Charles W. Arrants, his sister Mary I. Jones, and his long time friend, Reverend Dr. Charles Chapman Herrman, Jr.

A service celebrating his life, officiated by Rev. Isabel T.S. Gardner will be held at Wesley Chapel of Wesley United Methodist Church on 2015 Old Elk Neck Road in Elkton , MD on Saturday January 28, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Friends and family may call at the chapel beginning at 12 noon. Burial will be private. Parking will be at 41 Justice Way and there will be a shuttle service to 2015 Old Elk Neck Road.
