Obituary

Eileen Weik-Adams of Newark, DE, age 72, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2020. Eileen was born on a farm in Lafayette, New Jersey, to Warren and Dorothy (Blouch) Weik on February 28, 1948, and was the second youngest of four girls.

As a child she had an affinity for riding horses and became somewhat of a junior equestrian. After high school she moved to Philadelphia to pursue her nursing career where she received her Bachelors of Nursing degree from LaSalle University and later received her Masters. After receiving her degrees she worked for Pennsylvania General Hospital for 16 years as a registered nurse and went on to fulfill other nursing goals at various health care facilities and also in nursing education. Eileen met the love of her life and husband, David, at Temple University and they were together until her final moment. 32 of those 39 years were spent in holy matrimony and they were blessed to have Ashley, their beautiful daughter, together.

Eileen had a heart big enough to take anyone in. She helped raise and became a second mother to her nieces, Chanell and Courtney and many of her family's friends. She was a brilliant woman whose sense of humor could lift the darkest of clouds and whose silliness was immediately contagious. Eileen's voice was transcendent and she loved to sing and play guitar. She and her husband found profound fulfillment traveling and experiencing much of the beauty the world has to offer. One of Eileen's most cherished joys was indulging in fine dining experiences, tasting the most complex and exquisite palette luxuries with her daughter Ashley.

She will be lovingly remembered as understanding and having an immense capacity for love.

Eileen is survived by her loving husband, David Adams; daughter, Ashley Adams (Kirk Duncan); stepsons: Larry Adams (Marcia Adams), and Kamau Adams (Jane Adams); 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Eileen is preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Tice and mother-in-law, Nona Fae Adams.

A celebration of Eileen's life will be held on Saturday, October 3rd at 11am at Scottsville United Methodist Church, 2400 Brownsville Rd, Feasterville PA 19053, where family and friends may start visiting at 10am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to "Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation" and sent in care of the funeral home.
