Obituary

Edmond Bernard Stout of Newark, DE, age 86, passed away peacefully at home, March 27, 2019. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on May 25, 1932 to the late Richard and Julia (Walsh) Stout.

Edmond and his family, which included his identical twin brother, moved to Newark in 1939. He was an Eagle scout, and a proud graduate of Salesianum High School. He went on to graduate from the University of Delaware where he participated in the Army ROTC program. During college he worked at Delaware Park as well as the Brandywine Race track. After college Edmond served in the United States Army, before continuing his education at the University of Pennsylvania Dental School. Edmond and his brother Joe opened their Dental practice Newark Dental Associate in 1962 where he worked for 45 years. He was a member of the Delaware Dental Society and served one term as president 1984-1985. Edmond's impact extended well beyond his family and his dental practice. His Character, integrity, loyalty, generosity and kindness impacted so many lives. His Moral compass never wavered: love of God, family, country. We ask that you remember him as a good husband, father, grandparent, son, brother, uncle, friend, boss, coworker and as a kindhearted, generous, man of faith.

Edmond was a life long member of St. John/Holy Angels Roman catholic church in Newark, DE. He enjoyed going to his River house, the beach, and skiing.
Edmond is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Sylvia (Field) Stout; his 3 children: Stephen Stout, Maureen Stout Dominelli, Andrew Stout and his wife Kewai; ten grandchildren Bryan Stout, Caitlyn Gardner, Sean Stout, Malia Stout, Leiana Stout, Kamuela Stout, Joshua Dominelli, Nicholas Dominelli, Jacob Dominelli, Maura Dominelli; four great grandchildren: Jacob Stout, Carson Stout, Breanne Gardner, Hannah Gardner, his bother Richard Stout and his wife Patricia and his sister Sr Maureen Stout and many nieces and nephews.

In Addition to his Parents, Edmond is preceded in death by his brother Joseph Stout, and his granddaughter Breanne Stout.

A visitation will be held from 6pm-8pm on Wednesday April 3, 2019 at R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 west Main St., Newark, DE 19711. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11am on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, East Main St., and North Chapel St. Newark, DE 19711. Burial to follow at All Saints Cemetery.
