Obituary

Donald Francis Fanucci, age 77 of Winter Garden, FL, formerly from Rising Sun, MD, passed away on September 22, 2020. He was born on July 15, 1943 in Blakeley, PA to the late Frank Fanucci and Mary (Minicozzi) Fanucci.

Donald was a very generous and kind soul who enjoyed the simple things in life. He was a true family man and cherished the time he spent with them, whether that be watching old movies, such as John Wayne or musicals, making coffee runs, or karaoke, which he even enjoyed up until his last day, or Fox News. Donald retired from Bechtel Corporation as a Contracts Manager. He loved the retired lifestyle. He took joy in not making plans and living day by day. He enjoyed traveling and he always made time for his beloved dog, Lily who he adored. Many will remember Donald for being very knowledgeable and easy to get along with. He made friends everywhere he went. His great sense of humor will not be forgotten.

Donald is survived by his wife of 19 years, Mayette Decastro Fanucci; daughter, Dara Montgomery and her husband, Phillip; grandchildren: Gina Fanucci, Alexandra Bedard, Madison Montgomery, Harley Montgomery, and Herbert Montgomery; great grandchildren: Charlie, Autumn, and Bodhi Bedard; and his beloved companion, Lily.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Richard John Fanucci; first wife, Mary Ann Fanucci; and sons: Dino and Donnie Fanucci.

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 28, 2020 from 9:30- 10:30 AM at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at Church of the Good Shepherd, 831 Aiken Avenue, Perryville, MD 21903. The burial will follow the service at West Nottingham Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to "Wounded Warriors Project" and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
