Obituary for Danuiel Lee Rash

March 10, 1959 - July 27, 2016
Newark, Delaware | Age 57

"It's five o'clock somewhere!"

Danuiel Lee Rash, age 57, of Newark, DE, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at Christiana Care in Newark, DE. He was born March 10, 1959, in Elkton, MD, to Betty Ann (Cole) Rash-Walker, and the late Walter Samuel Rash.

A passionate worker, Danny worked as a warehouse manager for 28 years at Avon Products, in addition to working as a maintenance supervisor at J.C. Penney's at Prices Corner for 10 years. After his retirement, his business spirit led him to become part-owner and manager at Brookside News & Tobacco, and then, Newark Discount Liquors as store manager. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, boating and soaking up some sun on the beach. Danny was known for his amazing culinary skills, and it was attributed to his watching "Iron Chef", Rachel Ray, Emeril Lagasse and other cooking shows on the Food Network; not to mention everything passed down from his wonderful mother, Betty and grandmother, "Momma Cole". Friendly and sociable, Danny enjoyed dancing, singing and being goofy with the company of his family and friends. He "loved to make people happy" and lived his life motto "It's five o'clock somewhere", and to this, he collected clocks which all read "five o'clock". Besides all of his work and play, his other passion was the Philadelphia Eagles. He would eat sleep and breath everything Eagles, and it was even said that he bled "Eagles Green"!

He is survived by his mother, Betty Rash-Walker, and her husband, Gene; children, Cliff "CJ" Wood, Erin Greer, Jesse Rash, and Jenna Rash; brothers, David Rash, and his wife, Patty, and Mark Rash, and his wife, Stephanie; sisters, Linda Marple, Darlene Skinner, and Tina Osienski; aunt, Nancy McElwee, best friends, Donnie, Donnie Jr. "DJ", Mark, Butch, John, Praful, Larry, and Kent; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he is predeceased by his brother-in-law, Gene Marple, uncle, Don McElwee and life-long bestfriend, Arty Long.
