Obituary

Charles J. Parker, 88, of Elkton, MD, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 20, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 11, 1928 in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the late Welcome S. and Katherine (Weckerman) Parker.

Charles was a proud veteran of the US Army, serving from 1946-1949 in Japan, where he received a Purple Heart. After his service, he went to work for Great Lakes Construction in Buffalo, NY helping build Rich Stadium in Hamburg, NY. Charles' greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Mae Parker of Elkton, MD; daughters: Wende Molisani of Elkton, MD, and Paulette Evjy and her husband, Tabitha, of North East, MD; son, Charles J. (Chuck) Parker, Jr. of Lockport, NY; sister, Bernice Gibson of Chicago, IL; six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Charles' life will be held at 10am on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 E. Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921, where friends and family may visit beginning at 9am. Burial will follow at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to the "Wounded Warrior Project" and sent in care of the funeral home.
