Agnes Eva Eskridge of Elkton, MD, age 89, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2018. Born on February 5, 1929 in Elkton, MD, she was the daughter of Elsworth Howell Johnson and Elsie Malinda (Grant) Johnson.

Agnes worked on Main St. in Elkton, MD her entire life. She worked for Mokal's during her high school years and went on to work for J.J Newberry's for over 35 years, from which she retired in 1994. Agnes was baptized in and attended the Friendship Baptist Church in Newark, DE. Despite being widowed three times, Agnes continued to share her loving and kind nature with those around her.

Agnes was a hardworking woman and devoted mother who spent most of her time working and taking care of her home and family. In her free time, she enjoyed reading romance novels, listening to classic country music and collecting assorted cast iron figures. Agnes was fond of birds, specifically ducks and cardinals. She also made sure that her home was decorated for each holiday, and particularly enjoyed Christmas; making sure each year that Christmas was special. Agnes loved to laugh and her most treasured time was spent with her family.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of Abbey Manor Assisted Living and Amedysis Hospice for their kindness and care of Agnes.

Agnes is survived by two daughters: Dolores Murson of North East, MD and Karen Mullins and her husband, Ron of Spotsylvania, VA; grandson, Jason Mullins of Fredericksburg, VA; two great-granddaughters: Elena and Ella Mullins of Fredericksburg, VA; and two brothers: Robert Johnson of PA and Delbert Johnson of Elkton, MD.
