Aubrey Preston Ward, Jr., the beloved of Patricia Crowe Ward, died at home as they had wished July 15, 2017 Columbia, Maryland.
Born in Richmond, Virginia, September 25, 1942, the elder son of Aubrey Preston Ward and Vernelle Minson Ward, he is also survived by his younger brother, James Edward Ward, and his wife, Karen; a niece, two nephews, two grand nieces, and three grandnephews.
Aubrey graduated from John Marshall High School (1960) and Virginia Polytechnic Institute (1966 BS Chemical Engineering). He worked as a consulting engineer for U. S. and international firms, establishing Sigma Squared, Inc. 1993.
Aubrey and Patricia met in Columbia, Maryland 1976. They treasured each other and their life together, especially sharing time at home with Sam, enjoying anything they could do together, including traveling, hiking, and long walks in the woods.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made payable to Natural Resources Defense Council c/o R. T. Foard and Jones Funeral Home, 122 West Main Street, Newark, DE. 19711.


Condolence & Memory Journal

I was truly saddened to hear of Mr. Aubrey's passing. I always enjoyed visiting with him whenever I came to look at the furnace and AC. I will smile and remember him fondly.

Sad to read in The Columbia Flier about Aubrey's death. I have very fond memories of his visits to The Columbia Medical plan over the years. Always enjoyed his conversations, and sense of humor. Condolences to Patricia and all his family
